Project area has the potential for transforming all the city of Mersin, not only its close surrounding since the area selected contains most of the important nodes and historical areas for the collective memory of the city. The design aims to take into account the social structure of the neightbourhood in addition to its recreative functions. To achieve this, diffent zonings created which enables to perform different types of social activities in order to strengthen the urban consciousness  and social bonds. Historical, cultural and social roots of the city, the natural habitat and climate was the main derivatives of the design.
